In preparation for MODEX Show 2020, we’ve created a quick checklist to help you arrive prepared and ready for the day.

Comfy Footwear
Dress shoes are nice, but comfort is key when attending a tradeshow. While you certainly want to dress for success, make sure your shoes will offer plenty of support for your feet and joints so you can keep going all day long.
Bonus: If you’ll be attending a tradeshow multiple days, bring a couple different pairs of shoes. Switching out footwear will keep your feet refreshed and offer up new support.

Wear Layers
Just like a conference room, exhibit halls can run hot or cold depending on various factors. Prepare for any temperature by wearing layers that can be easily removed if you get too warm or can be added if the exhibit hall is running cool. 

Business Cards
Don’t forget to grab those business cards! The number one reason for attending a tradeshow is to network and make connections, so don’t be THAT person who shows up empty handed. Additionally, a great practice when gathering business cards, is to note what was discussed with the individual. That way you have a “cheat sheet” when reaching out to them later on.

Hand Sanitizer
Unfortunately, attending a tradeshow means being in close proximity to 10xs the amount of germs compared to your average every day. Be sure to frequently wash your hands or utilize hand sanitizer throughout your interactions with people. Many booths will have hand sanitizer available for any one to use, but to be sure you always have some, carry a pocket-size bottle on your person.

Create A Booth List
If there are particular vendors you’d like to visit while attending MODEX, make a list on your phone of names and booth numbers so you don’t miss anyone.  

Shuttle To And From The Show
Avoid the show traffic jam by parking in another location and riding one of the provided shuttles to and from the event. Not only will it save you the headache of dealing with traffic and parking, but you’ll be able to use the spare time to catch up on emails, or simply sit back and relax. 

Bring Snacks And A Drink
Pack yourself a couple of snacks and a bottle of water rather than buying at the show. Not only will you save some money but staying hydrated and staving off hunger will help you power through the show with laser focus.

Leave the Bag Behind
While most of us travel with a brief case or purse, forgo the bags for the day. While that bag may not seem like an inconvenience at first, you will be tired of carrying it by the end of the day. Only bring what you can fit into your pockets. This will help limit you to the essentials and keep unnecessary items at home.
